My name is Gloiera Brown and I've lived in Iowa all of my life. One of my favorite things to do is go the the Iowa State Fair. This year it will be happening August 12-22. Another great thing to do in the Land of Corn is to go to the Pella Tulip Festival in May each year. RAGBRAI (Register's Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa) is a grueling week-long trek across the state. The Des Moines Register sponsors the event and thousands of bicyclists turn small towns into tent-cities for a night along the route. Iowa gets lots and lots of snow in the winter, and lots and lots of heat in the summer. This doesn't bother us natives, though. We're sturdy folks.
